worst. week. ever.

this week was truly a game changer. started off busy, normal, ended on a terrible note mixed with a really fun volunteer event (which was NOT terrible), enveloped within 7 straight days of work and lots of depression and reflection. i have grown to put out this tough exterior, when truly i am the same sensitive kate that i have always been. i don’t necessarily think that is a bad thing, but sometimes i wish that i cared a little less about certain things and more about what truly matters.
 
 
 
 
 

blahday blahday

today was just so blah. the first day of my caffeine-slowdown, i only had one SMALL cup of coffee before i left for work. perhaps that had something to do with things, but i’m going to chalk it up to a day-job funk.

daylight savings time couldn’t arrive sooner, and i hate leaving for work in the dark! it does, however, give me the chance to observe the beautiful sunrise from the quiet office.

for lunch break, in an attempt to brighten my mood, i indulged with Cacao – which is basically a chocolate bar in a cup – delicious.

it may have worked to lift my grump a little. here’s to hoping tomorrow will be a better day.

end of an era

ryan returned home from Olympia last night with a surprise – my favorite coffee mug, broken. i have had this mug since high school, when i took a summer pottery class at the studio on route 100 in waterbury (which no longer exists, of course). so, my 10+ year old favorite mug has met its end – sorry JIM!

luckily (for ryan) i have found and purchased a new mug from Deb Babcock at Blue Sky Pottery. view her ETSY shop here. although it is not the same and will never replace my glorious red cup, i can’t wait for it to arrive! in a related story, here is Ninja, equally displeased by the mug-shattering news.
